Protexure News: Solo Practitioner Named to DC Superior Court

Here at Protexure Lawyers, we proudly consider ourselves advocates for the Small Law Firm and Solo Practitioners throughout the United States. Though smaller firms do not typically receive national attention, today President Barack Obama nominated a Solo Practitioner, Michael O’Keefe, to the District of Columbia Superior Court.

Michael O’Keefe has been a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association since 1994, and has been a longtime Solo Attorney. He has focused on Criminal Defense and Family Law, and has handled more than 2,000 cases in the D.C. Superior Court. Though many Solo Practitioners usually struggle throughout the nomination process due to the Institutionalization and competitive advantage possessed by attorneys from large firms, O’Keefe is a rare exception. What makes O’Keefe’s situation even more rare is that he was a Solo Practitioner at the time he was appointed. This is a testament to Attorney O’Keefe, as well as Solo Practitioners everywhere.

We would like to congratulate Attorney O’Keefe on his recent nomination! The White House now has 60 days to make a decision between Attorney O’Keefe and two other nominees. We at Protexure Lawyers wish him the best of luck!
